Movement Environment Well-being (MEW)

he MEW project “Movement Environment Well-being” means to establish a “European Network for Health”, promoting a “Protocol of activities” and correct life styles to counter sedentariness and to show the economic savings and the individual and social well-being.
The protocol of activities will be the result of a research, an analysis and a study path carried out by the project promoters and will be experimented with 200 European volunteers aged 30-55 years: 40 Italians; 35 Germans; 25 Portuguese; 25 Irish; 25 Roman; 25 Latvians; 25 English.

The operative staff will guarantee the monitoring and the support to the participants and will have the task of detecting the results achieved in the experimentation.

In order to promote the knowledge of the project, to support the involvement and motivation of participants and to favour motor activity and sustainable mobility, 10 one-day sport events will be organized with trekking, biking and/or walking routes. Three events will take place in Italy starting next October and in the same period an event will take place in each of the project partner countries: Germany, Portugal, Ireland, United Kingdom, Romania, Latvia and the Netherlands.

The information gathered during the experimentation phase and by the participants in the events will be used to elaborate the final version of the “protocol of activities”. The “protocol of activities ” will be the description of virtuous behaviors that each person can adopt in order to favour motor activity, correct lifestyles, paths of social awareness and support the savings in healthcare costs.
The project plans to establish a group of “European sports volunteers” for the dissemination of the “protocol of activities” after project conclusion.
